Course Overview
This course introduces Emergency Support Function (ESF) #2 – Communications. It focuses on coordinating government and industry efforts for restoring critical communications infrastructure, stabilizing systems from malicious activities, and supporting response efforts.
Course Objectives
- Describe the overall purpose and scope of ESF #2.
- Identify the supplemental assistance ESF #2 provides to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments.
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of the ESF #2 coordinator, primary agencies, and support agencies during an incident.
- Identify typical activities accomplished by ESF #2 resources.
- Describe the types of partnerships formed between ESF #2 and other response agencies and organizations.
Primary Audience
This course provides a high-level overview of ESF #2 for the emergency management community. Participants should ideally have a baseline knowledge of incident management and have taken related EMI courses.
