Course Overview

Since 1983, the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program (EFSP) has been helping people facing economic crises. This unique public-private partnership unites the voluntary sector and the government to address critical human needs, including hunger and homelessness. This course provides a brief overview of the EFSP.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Identify the responsibilities and requirements of the National Board, FEMA, and the State Set-Aside (SSA) Committees.
• Understand the responsibilities and requirements of Local Boards in effectively awarding EFSP funds at the local level.
• Recognize the basic responsibilities and compliance requirements of all EFSP-funded Local Recipient Organizations (LROs).

Primary Audience

This course is designed for members of the EFSP National Board, Local Boards, and Local Recipient Organizations (LROs).
