Course Overview

This course is intended for FEMA managers, supervisors, or designated management representatives and is designed to help them understand their responsibility for workplace safety and protection of human health. The course identifies the Executive Orders, legislative standards and regulations, internal directives, and policies that govern FEMA’s workplace safety and health program. Additionally, the course addresses the reporting process associated with injury, illness, and accidents within FEMA.

Course Objectives

• Identify management’s responsibility for workplace safety and protection of human health
• Identify the Federal Coordinating Officer’s role in ensuring workplace safety
• Recognize governing Executive Orders, standards, regulations, and internal directives
• Understand the reporting process for incidents within FEMA

Primary Audience

The primary audience includes FEMA managers, supervisors, or designated management representatives. This course should be taken every 2 years.

Prerequisites

The recommended prerequisite for this course is the IS-35: FEMA Safety Orientation.
